Resolve to be thyself, and know that he who finds himself, loses his misery.

We know what we are, but know not what we may be.

Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures. - Henry Ward Beecher
A third News Feature from yours truly, this time, on a more intimate and elusive topic than even the last feature! In this last installment, I was most interested in uncovering who it is that shares their gifts with the dA world.
Oftentimes, artists we know and love, or even ones we just visit periodically in search of new submissions, become... just that. They become accounts, machines that just push out fantastic sunsets or awesome fractals. Though their works are highly valued staples of our emotive world, these faceless accounts rarely evoke the emotions that first compelled the artist him/herself to share their talents with the online world. With the permission of those who posted to this thread, I wish to celebrate some of these talented humans (complete with their inspiration, drive, perspectives and all), rather than promote them as humanless talent towards which the vastness of the internet might channel our thoughts.
These are all images and writings that are important in some way to those who posted them; epiphanies, religious philosophies, turning points, encouraging sentiments, and other important cornerstones in their own respective galleries and lives...

Four Tiny LettersIt is a word of:thumb105022086: :thumb101301148:
four tiny letters -
two vowels,
two constanants,
and an innocuous “L”
to begin with.
How does this word
instill such fear
in our souls?
We tremble
at the notion of
its utterance.
I am not afraid
of this syllable,
for it delineates perfectly
our complex relationship.
It is what we
are built upon,
yet as long as we
dance around it,
we can avoid the truth.
By placing it
so openly here,
I could lose you.
You may run
and I will never
catch up with
your lengthy strides.
I do not want to.
That word,
my darling,
is “lies”,
and it is all
that you and I
know.
River RanI ran to the river and tossed away my shoes.:thumb121454090: :thumb126080121: :thumb116901313: :thumb122792739: :thumb104338692: :thumb125131070: :thumb126145335: :thumb125626580:
I dove in without a thought, a real care.
Without hesitation, I let go of my blues.
I found the comfort nature would share.
River ran, river run,
Look to those who love you.
Come back to the bright sun,
For the gray days you rue.
Cold, silvery current could be felt all around.
Opening my eyes, I was blind.
The rushing water overpowered me with its sound.
There was no light for me to find.
River ran, river run,
Wash away the black sin.
Come back to the bright sun,
To where you've always been.
I was drifting further along the current,
No longer feeling confused.
I was a fish with nature's happy consent
And was no longer misused.
River ran, river run,
Sweet has been this escape.
Come back to the bright sun,
And cross the caution tape.
A fish should forget to recognize fear.
Mistakes shouldn't return
When the river cradle holds one dear.
Peace should be my concern.
River ran, river run,
Sweet, sweet melody play.

Living in his hidden world
Living somewhere I can't reach him
He's a dreamer...
With coral oceans and painted skies
Just dancing in his magical eyes
He's a dreamer...
Screaming doesn't reach him
Reality has no hold
He's a dreamer...
Oh but what happens
When all dreaming ends?
Some of my own significant pieces…
